This episode we're kind of breaking away. From the MoleDay. We've been talking about a lot of songs from S and S. indeed, yeah wehave been yeah. The majority of the episodes are probably, I would say inthe S, but this one is the part of the most current song. We've talked abouttwo dates, really, I think so. Yeah Iwas o a the yeah, the other I mean thetwenty one pilot song was from what about five. Six years ago, seven yearsago, the maclamor was about ten years ago. So yeah, I would say this is oh.No. What Bretley Gilbert was pretty recent grantly fucking Gilbert Anyway, and these are all great episodes that everybody should be checking outbecause they are part of our archive, so make sure you visit all those linksthat drew gave you, so you can find them, listen to them and love them yeah, and even if it is a Song Gong wrong. The episode still is right: Yep,Pristine Yeah, but this episode blinding lights from the weekends andwhere we're briaking this up, because he is performing Ot. The Super Bowl, soI feel like it' be topical, but also, I kind of you know, wanted to see whatthe fans and listeners and you as well Dave. You know thought about thisparticular song, but this episode we...

...ware talking about blinding lights bythe weekends which was off his album after hours and after hours, the albumwas released in March of two thousand and twenty, but blinding lights wasactually released as a single late November of thosand and nineteen andthe song was written by, is actually a handful of writers on this one, but Abel Tesfay, I might have butchered atname Abl Tisfie anyway, that's the weekends, real name, a Maud, Balshi,Jason, Quenville Max Martin and Oscar Holter, and it was produced by MaxMartin, Oscar Holter and the weekend. Now. Yes, there's a lot of song ritersthere, but Max Martin. Let's, let's talk about him, roak quick, you knowwho maxim. Martin is Dave. No, but I like his initials. They arenice. They are nice, but Max is a Swedish song, writer and producer, andwhen I was researching his name, I was like Holy Shit. This guy is borderlinelegendary, but he actually helped write Brity spears baby, one more time hehelped write back street boys. I want it that way and insinks. It's Goin tobe me or, if you're, a big meme fan such as myself, the song is actuallycalled it's going to be May, but Martin Yeah, I love that meme every May. First,I'm like yes, I can't wait to use this, but Martin has written or co Writ intwenty three billboard hot one hundred number one songs, HMM, that's insane!Yeah! THAT'S INSANE! He's written writtener cover in twenty three number:one songs, here's another crazy, Stat Martin is the songwriter with the thirdmost number one singles on the billboard hot one hundred chart. Youknow who's thehead of him. No tell me, I will tell you Paul McCartney's numberone with thirty two and John Lenon, his second with twenty six. It's funny Iwas gonna. I was going to get some Beatles and I didn't just let you tellme still not yeah matme, so it's McCartney and Lennon, who are basically royalty and then Max Martin, which I feel like based of thatMaxmartin, should also now be royalty. Yeah, that's insane Wat, a according tovariety. His net worth is actually over two hundred and sixty million dollars, but, like I feel like you, never hear this guy's name throwing around right, but no no, and I love it when you bring up people's wealth because to me that'slike monopoly money. Well for them, it is two hundred sety nillion right, butI mean that's like the unachievable amount that well probably never see.You know what I mean like culd, you imagine being that rich. It's likeridiculous. It's just obscened! You know a ishus yeah, it's crazy! Iwould't en know what to do with that money. I'd probably like just donate alot of it. To be honest, that's a good idea too. I was thinking like hookersand blow so you were definitely well. You know a nicer guy than I am you morecaring, loving all that good stuff, I'm not saying that would donate all of it.So I'd have I'd. Have a couple: Bucks Leftover for some Okay Yeah, justsaying Y, your gentle soul drew. I was all thinking about me, the big guy, andhow much I could just use that money to be a evil. Baster O, like I'm, going togive my money to charity, I'm not thinking O and you're, like Ao, intail, yeah, Yeahwell I'll. Tell you guys what, ifyou take nothing else away from this episode, I present to you Max Mother, fucking Martin, who guys a legend but theyve. What are what are some of Yoarmemories of this song, blinding lights by the weekend?Well, let me tell you my friend this guy. He is just an absolute hitmaker. You know unbelievable artist. I lovehis other hits such as shake it off an uptown. FUNK was really good. So yeah, I could say, I've been aweekend fan for virtually all my life. I mean every year, Tha I've been inexistence. It's all been about the weekend. OP SOMN OO, sundown, yeah, uptown Fok was Greay. Shake it off was...

...really good. His Voice Soun a littleoff in that one, but I think it was AP. It was so good drew yeah. You know this. This whole Charad cannot go on any further. I really I've heard of the guy,but I haven't heard any of his music until we suggested doing this on theshow. So I'm a Newbe, I'm a rookie, and this was the first song I'd everconsciously listen to from the weekend who actually spellshis name in a very odd manner too. That bugs me yeah. You know what maybe andit's weird, because I'm sure he makes a lot of money. I'm sure Yeu can affordthe extra two hundred bucks to buy that extra vow yeah, I don't know, maybe cokan PA ajick about that one yeah come on now, but yeah, I'm a rook, so my wholememories of the song or of you, which happens from time to time on this, thishumble little program, that's what we tried to. We try to educate, but yeah Iwas. I was also late to this game as well to the weekend as well as thisparticular song, and I remember at the beginning of the pandemic right. Therewas that viral tick, Tock dance, video that really helped put this song kindof Inthi spotlight. I honestly didn't know what song they were dancing tobecause it sounded like it was this s like synth pop type, you know beat, andI was like okay cool whatever I'd. Never, I honestly did not know it wasthe weekend at you know back in when was that, like March or whatever, but Idid see him and I think what really introduced me to him was the weekendacte performed on Saturday night live and he put on a pretty good performance.I think that was also back in around March of two thousand and twenty. Sothat's when I kind of started noticing him, but then it probably took anothercouple months for me to actually dig into his music, so probably on Thisummertime is when I started really digging in, and I heard I think I justsearched for him and then it's like o. What are some of his like most Pipulahits and I saw blinding lights. I was like Holy Shit. This has been downloada lot and I was like ell. Let me give it a listen and I was like Oh okay.Maybe that's why it's been downloaded so much but yeah so like like you, I ama bit of a Nuby, but speaking of how many times way downloaded oh go aheadbefore you get to before you get to the downloads. Just we didn't clarify here.We should have, because I am criminally on hip that the songs I referenceearlier. Maybe there's someone out there like me who doesn't know what theHell is going on, but shake it off is actually Taylor, swift and uptown funkis Bruno Mars, see I thought you're going at. I bet butplease, ourlisteners have, actually we actually have there is scores sent out and ourlisteners are actually the sommorest listeners in the entire wor yeah, sothey probably knew yeah. I mean I'm still operating here with Hula hoopsand Messenger Pigeon. Okay, so you got to forgive me, but I did want to. Youknow clarify that before we move forward, because some people might belike where those really songs by the weekend, nope just dave being an idiotper usual yeah, I'm more of a smoke signal fan, although that's notnecessarily a green way to communicate. So I'm actually, I'm also going toswitch over to carrier pigeons. It's more sustainable boange. My Life Yeah. Alsoshout the teller swift. Why I missing in the house? I love it, but yeah thissong has been streamed. Let me see here, carry the tens column, one point: NineBillion Times Dave, that's thit's more than what'shis name again Max what was his name ith mm. I was calling mm the producer, that's more than he, Oh, the Oh, the the producer Max Martin Max Martin.Thank you missed Mattin, that's more than even he's worth. That's somethingelse, Huh! Well, the one point: nine billion streams doesn't equate to onepoint, nine billion dollars, but no, but he must get like a fraction of apenny. Oh absolutely oh yeah, hat's know what I mean like for Sur: Zero, zero, zero, whatever yeah one billion nine hundred an fourteen million ninehundred thousand and five hundred and...

...twenty six times. As of this recording and by time, this ack of saying that,by the way that you have to like going fror of a mirror, because I know Iwould have fumbled that, like crazy, I'mwe are professional around here Dave, but you are yeah en U Bill, but by time this airs it'll. I feel like e're,probably crack two billion Bu, I'm assuming after the Super Bowl he's,probably Goinna jump over to the two billion, but and I'm also not ashamed to admit. I'veprobably contributed several streams that had total, but overall, this songis the sixth most stream song on spotify, so of all the songs on spotify. This is this has been streamed, the sixth most wowwhat. Do you think themost streamed song is on spotify Dave, Oh wow, that you know I actually wantto go the Beatles, I'm trying to think like what Beatle Song would be the mostpopular. But can I just name the artist and just go with that because sure Iknow I'm going to be wrong, but I don't know the Beatles are great and webrought up Paul McCartney and John Lennon earlier. So let's keep goingwith that theme. Ed Sharon, so verysll Atis, yeah oher, AD Sheras, for shape.Ofvou is number one with two point: Seven billion tacks that song sucks. You know, I'm sorry we're spoiling ever doing that song on the show, becauseI'm just I'm getting mad now. How can that be number one? Have you read thelyrics to that song? No, I have not e, don't you know what I know what now Iwant to do that episode with that Song, because I feel like now we might getanger that I felt thats what you want to giver so now I now I want to seeangry Dave, we've seen. Ah You WANTN ANGL DRI yeah yeah. You don't want tosee me that rage. You don't want that. Buddy, don't enleash that fury upon theworld on the Intera webs. Don't do it speaking of anger, also somehow thathorrible song thunder by Imagine Dragons is actually the twenty fifthmost stream song on spotify, like that's Soll, talking number one. Now,I'm just saying like of all the songs out there, though right, you know thatsong was there were no beatle songs in a top twenty five. I don't even know ifthere ar any beatle songs on that list. To be honest, with you t of the top one hundred, I wentthrough the entire list and I think Queen Bohemian rhapsody was the firstsong that I saw that had any relevance to an older person such as myself, butMMYEAH Tha. Don't imagine, imagine dragons well, here's some wore! Oh, Igot stat stave. I got stathead do something because right now, I'm reallydepressed for the future. This is wh bothered. Post Malone has the mostsongs and Tha top one hundred streamed on spotify with eight, and the weekendhas four, which is good for fourth place tied with Dualipa and guess, whoelse imagine dragons? I don't. I honestly don't understand how imagineddragons are so popular like they similar to Brantley Gilbert Day alsomake me angry, which apparently, which is similar to you and Ad Sharon as wellyeah, I don't fucking, get it no is bizarres hell. I ye yeah, whatever yeah, so the billboard ot one hundred information right. So this songis sat the US Bilbard hot one hundred top ten three straight years: TwouUOUSAND, Ninetueen, Thusanda, twenty and no two thousand and twenty one andin January blinding lights broke the record for the most weeks, spente inthe top five on the hot one hundred chart spending a total of forty threeweeks in ha top ten and with the weekend performing into Super Bowl. I'msure it's only going to keep going at least for a few more weeks. So it's ayou know. You mentioned that earlier to the Super Bowl thing is a big deal, especially if he exposes a nipple or something. Then it's going to be massive, if we're only so lucky yeah, atotally can't wait. Shoul me weekend...

...without the e I know, but so how doesthe song compared to other songs on he album you ere, given the album a listen,a little bit, Dafe right? Well, I was shuffling around with my smart speakerbecause, despite not being too cool, I am down with the tech case the kidswould say. As far as listening to my tunes, my ditties so yeah, I heard a few of his songs, but they weren't necessarily specific to this album. Okay, so you're kind ofjumping around a little bit, yeah Yeahtstalkan skippind be boping yeah,so the album after hours debuted a top the billboard two hundred so right away.It was a hit, but overall the album's actually kind of mellow, which I foundkind of interesting. Not You know good or bad, I'm just saying it was I feltlike it may be. It might have been a bit more, a beat as a whole, but that was that was just my initialperception. Like I said, I'm not saying that's good or bad. I mean I like Ilike melow stuff, so the first track alone. Again, that's acool track. I like that one, a lot kind of like a PSYCHEDELIC synth pop soundto it cool tune. I like it the next song too late, it's a good song to butalso kind of chill hardest to loves an interesting song vocally. It's like aslow song, but then he puts like a fast drum beat behind it, but I still likeit scared to live cool tune. Some of these songs kind of sound like thisepic soundtrack for a movie. If that makes any sense, like you know, likeyou're like watching something and then like in the background, is thissoundtrack I feel like so like early on in this in this album, that's kind ofthe feeling I got but escape from La it's all right at this point, though, like some ofthese songs kind of run into each other, like I know, escape from La, has an offbeat to it like it doesn't fall like your usual time signature, but still sounds like some of the othersongs. Almost like the weekend is, you know just kind of singing inthebackground of the music it. It's weird it's a little tough to explain for me,but it's like his vocals R, just kind of like it's almost like the music isin the forefront and then his vocals ares kind of just also happened to bethere. You know what I mean: Yeah Yeah, I ally, I'm actually likein. Theconnection where you said is very cinematic: int scope but yeah with thesoundtrack and then you said, escape from La which was actually a prettycrappy movie. It was Russ but snake Pliskin, snake Plisskin, that's right, bad ass yeah, but I I think I also mentioned t is on twitter before, butthis is like it's a great album to listen to into background, while you'redoing something else like it's chill. Well, like I said I like that vibe, buta lot of it does kind of run into the next thing, and then you get heartlessas the next song that song hit number one on the US billbard hot one hundredin December of two thousand and nineteen. Then we get to faith, not theGeorge Micel or Lim Biscuit Song, but here Yo are again with another songwith that synth pop field to it. At this point I was also pretty deep in it,putting together a project plan for a website build at work, so this music isactually pretty conducive te. Getting things done at work, whil being playedin the background, so I will say yeah I we'll say, drew approves after hoursfor project management, so there you go. I was thinking that even before thisshow started, we should have had a like a running tally of how many times we'regoing to say super bowl and synth pop. Well, we're a good drinking game, we'regoing to say it a couple more time so get your Dreamyeah, that's what I meanyeah exactly so yeah totally yeah, and then, after that we get blinding lightsand then in your ise, which is another upbeat kind of s, guess what symth popsong, then we Gan Saviour tears more the same and then after hours, anotherlike poppy type song. So, overall, it's not bad, but I wasn't also necessarilyblown away by this album, like I feel, like I've kind of heard some of thisbefore you know and like I said it wasn't bad. I likeit I'll, probably listen to it again, but I'm not. I wasn't like wow. This isamazing. I thought you know. Okay, this...

...is pretty good. That was kind of myreaction to it right on, but yeah yeah. So now what is this song about? I feellike Tdon't yeah I feel like the weekend is more of a profit and less ofa singer. I think now this song came out in late, two thousand and nineteenand then the one precouruse he says I look around and since cities cold andempty no one's around to judge me, I can't see clearly when you're goneright like like he this this. Maybe he was talking about the pandemic. Youknow he's in Vegas right since City Vegas, yeah, there's no one, there's noone around oh come on, there's always people around in Vegas excit, evendratemic. No, I don't know man ie beench, es bunse bunch ofdegenerateself they're still trying to hit the slots, not Maye Gat the starsin their eyes. Yeah, I'm sure I mean I'm not from there. I've never beenthere. So I can't say: Maybe they are thesafest city in the continental United States. I don't know, but my instinctswould tell me where there's a will there's a way and that's true, you knowyeah, but no. I can kind of feel the vibes where you coming from there sureyeah continue and then well and then also kind of going back a little bit.The song actually starts off with I've been on my own for long enough, I'mgoing through with drawls. You don't even have to do too much so, like youknow, we has suens have that longing for connection, and you knowinteractivity and you know he's maybe at that point he was already intopandemic. You know he's maybe he's from the future. Maybe that's why he doesn'thave that extra e, because in the future we don't need it yeah. We thatbe something that would be something you know really just yeah abolish theease he's. On top of that he's warning us this what's going to happen stories will change our novels, all theEASEWILL. Suddenly disappart dictionaries will never be the same. So thank you to the weekend, for youknow, leting US know ahead of time you know drew. Can I give you I'm lookingat the lyrics right now? Yes, sir, it maybe I'm crazy, because I don't knowthis guy from hole in the wall, but a lot of this could be related to evenlike an addiction like you're, a drug addict or something can you feel itcould be. I do an's actually a fair point. I know he's only the onlyreferencees like withdrawals, one time but he's saying how you know you don'teven have to do too much. You can turn me on with just a touch baby likepeople can relate these things, Ye to interactions with the whatever your youknow, significant other or stranger, whoever you like. You do yea dog, butbut you get what I'm saying, but the same time as with any kind of lyrics, with the way you want to interpret them. I can see some drug references maybe happening in hereyeah, but I know absolutely that's a that's actually a fair assessment, yeah!Well I'll call them. Okay, yeah! Let me as somet Yeah Yeah. Just just let me know when you talk to him. Well,I'm going to page him. First, okay, sure he's around yeah totally, because you know that's how we roll so thit's.True told s you I'm, I hip with the Tech Bra yeah. No, that's actually a fair, a fairpoint. You brought up there, but I my hunch is that it's about because he waswho he was dating. WAS IT Belahadeed Alri? That's a whatdo you? That's that's how O the date! I am on these things, it', EA model orsomething like that. I think that's who it was, and I think around around thattime they broke up or something like that or so. There's like a couple songson here on the album, where it's kind of like Eah, it's almost like a breakupsong, so I my assumption is that this song is moreabout his relationship or maybe relationships in general. You know kindof that brooding type yeah yeah, like you're, suggesting yeah more, likemaybe the stuff you see in supermarket tablois, who I'm talking about chasingthe White Dragon. You KNOWAI meanlike complete oppositeends of the spectrum here, but no, you know I don't mind allyrics, I thinkthey're well written yeah. Absolutely.

I have no problems with the lyricswhatsoever, even though it took twenty five people to probably write them. It's CUR WELLD! I mean it was Max Martin. Well, you go! Mr Mutton amanmMax Max mother, fucking Martin give him another em in there you go ou too. Wecan take away an e now we're putting in an extra M. that's right! Well, I thinktheseyes well, yeah can't argue with all those hits, but I anything elsewant to talk about, or you want to dig right into our final verdict here, Dave yeah s just do the verdicts 's. Let'sget into that sounds good, all right, blinding lights by the weekend Dave. Doyou think this song is a legit hit or a song gone wrong? What say you well, Itend to want to give a little bit of an explanation of my thought processbehind the whole thing and everybody Qeu up your drinks, Hade them ready togo down your gullet because I'm going to say it again, sinth pop right when Iwas ere on this guy's Catala yeah, when I was sgimping around his cataloge, Iwas very attracted to that aspect of his music, this song in particular, notknowing it at all or being familiar with it, because I don't tick talk. I guess I don't know was that the onlyonly thing it was on or something was that the social media platform you saidit was well. That was that was where that that viral video came out. I roleyeah, see when Yo. In my day you had a virus. You went to see the doctor so way does only Puan to me, but I likethe way I the song made me feel okay, because it felt so es to me. I lovedthe es seeing man you know mean you have that in common, like we just lovethat era, and we love that erro music so much so I really dug that about this song inparticular. Like I love the background to it, the vocals I thought were sungvery well. I just mentioned I enjoyed the lyrics now: here's where I'm havinga tough time. Okay, I'm trying to project forward to the future wherethere are no ease, okay, a world without ease. Will I still considerthis hit song personally in the future. I struggled with this because, afterlistening to it a few times, I tried to remember in my head- and I could I justcouldn't- do it yet, when I sit here with you this evening and I look at thelyrics, I'm reading them, but I can hear them being sung in my head sosubconsciously something has been planted, I'm just unaware of it. Yetyou know what I mean yeah, so on the surface I just want to say: okay, thisis kind of a retread of a song. I can hear elements that he's taken fromother artists that came before him. So how could I you know make this a legithit, there's no way it has to be a song going wrong because I don't thinkthere's going to be staying power yeah the same time, if I use that kind ofCrateria, I'm basically damning any other musician on the face of the earth, because everybody borrows from somebody else: Yeah where's, Yo, originality in anybody'smusic. Everything is a hodge podge makeup of something or differentinfluences. They have so I just mentioned I've been struggling withthis all day. I've been sitting alone, sweating nervously this very moment intime where I have to run to my verdict, but I'm going to tell you this. Thenumberis just don't lie and it's hard to argue with, and I think it's going to speaking ofinfluences help influence to make my decision where I think this is in facta legit hit. Have you like New Music? What the Hell happened to you? It'sweird. I know I not like I like it to the point whereI don't know. If I'm going to listen to this tomorrow or have a hankering to doso any time in the future, but there is something there there's something goingon there that I just can't deny or avoid you know what I mean, and I can'targue with pop culture or the listening habits of planet Earth is weird so yeah,I'm going to say, legit hit Bro, you are how about you, you are hip yeah,I'm hip, O see. I was trying to get away from that ASA. I was like whatabout you drew. Let's not talk about how yeah, how cool I yeah. This song is cross generational. Youknow, while it doesn't necessarily break any new ground, which you know Ithink you're kind of talking about too.

I think a big reason of its success isthe fact that it's a younger musician who can reach the younger audience, butthis song also has that ads feel to it. So it also reaches the older listenersas well. Right, you add a viral ticktock video to it, and also thissong came out right, t the beginning of a Roawi pandemic. You know which Ithink kind of helped that video that viral video really take off, becausepeople were stuck home. You know doing these fucking dances, so you know I think that actually kind ofhelped it a little bit. You know this song. It appeals to such a wide variety and awide array of people, and it checks off all kinds of boxes. You know. Do Ithink the weekend is the talented musician absolutely, but I kind of seehim as like, like a Michael Jackson, light in a way Ou knowokay MJ wasgroundbreaking, whereas the weekend just kind of reinventing the wheel alittle bit, and that doesn't mean it's bad, I'm just kind of calling it like.I see it now, specifically the blinding lights. This song is great and I wouldsay yes, this is a legit hit. Do I think it deserves all of theseaccolades? I don't know like all of the records and everything else. This thingis breaking it's like Holy Shit like this. Is like the best song ever made, but I'm like it's it's great. I would say it's a great song. You know, Idon't know if it's the best song ever so I think it's overhyped a little bit,but again it doesn't mean it's bad. It really is a good song and it does to meit actually gets stuck in my head, but you know I have listened to this songquite a bit over the last few months, but maybe it's new to a youngergeneration right like that style of music. That's simthpop that we likebringing up you know, but to you or I this is just stuff from thirty fiveyears ago that hit us during. You know that just has come back. You knowduring this right past year or twospill bottom pants, Bro, bill bottom pats, the LATN and the last year has suck probably the biggest dick on multiplelevels, and people are looking for things that make them fe better, andyou know besides alcohollic, this song is another comfort. You know it's it'scatchy, you know it has a catchy beat to it to entertain the youngeraudienceas. Yet familiar to the older crowd, so it's something for us to kindof levitate to and also here's nor thing too. If he did not have this song,I'm not so sure he would have been selected to perform INTA super bowlthis year, like he has a. He has a decent resume of hit. Songs right, likeI said before, he has three songs already into hundred most stream songson spotify and he's got a handful of number one, but I think this song iswhat really put him over toe top and put him in this super bowl. If hedidn't have this, I feel like they probably would haveasked somebody else h that somebody else is, I'm not sure, but this song just being massive kind of ontop of the already decent work, he's already done, really brought him tothat next level. So I'm going to say, legit hit. Oh Yeah Yeah, you know whatI like that you brought up was t e hype, because that's something I completelyand utterly avoided like I just wasn't in tune with that. I didn't know itexisted yeah. You know what I mean but you're aware all this stuff you're, youknow finger on the pulse, so I was. I was a little off the Littleso. I waslittle off the pulse on this one. I probably missed it by like six monthsor so yeah well, maybe maybe like three or four months actually, but stilleither way. You know, I didn't hear it like right away when it first came out. This is one of those songs. I'm telling you right now. If it is okay again, I'm not aware ofwhat's going on, so maybe it has already, but I could predict it beingpart of like a voltwagon commercial in five six years an well. It was actuallyan a Mercedes bens commercial in Hagaver. I think it was at when was itlike November or December of two thousand and nineteen so like once itwas released as a single. It was in a Mercedes, Ben's commercial. So thereyou go wow yep. Look at that! Look that Huh! Well all right! You know, so weboth think this is a legit hit. It is worthy of the crown that we now bestowupon it, or is it or is it or is it?...

Where is still a faction of people thatneed to weigh in and who ere those people drew? Oure, lovely, wonderful, well, groomed, listeners, MI, guess, Therre Wall Rooms- I don't know okay, I hope so yeah anyway, let's eeWat that, let's so what the fans have to say about this one, all right, the fans have spoken andthey have voted and sixty percent said this song is a legit hit, which is interesting right for all theaccolades and basically how much ass this song haskickes on all the charts. Only sixty percent said legithit, so forty percentwere saying MMM, I don't think so yeah. So That's interesting, Surpriseingo meyeah totally. Based on those numbers, I would have said ninety eight percentsai it's a legit hit, but here we are well. You know what I might have. Imight have been swaye the other way because if we were, if I had been moreexperienced with his catalogue- and I just heard the handful of songs that Ilistened to- because I wasn't crazy about all of his material- maybe Iwould have been like you well of. Is this stuff sucks? Or I don't like thisguy, because whatever yeah he dated this supermodel or something else? Whoknows me that all that stuff, you know, plays a factor in that that fortypercent, which seems abnormally high? Well, you can't, I don't think ot canjudge thes song we're discussing based on theother material they have like. I don't think those other like if they let'ssay they have like one album right and then ten songs, Yeah Shit, and then onesong is amazing like if we're talking about the one amazing song, that's theonly song. We should really be. You know basing things against. You can antalk about the other songs, but that shouldn't sway your vote. That's ourcriteria right. That is our criteria as host of this show yeah right. That'swhat we're trying to do is single out the one song focus on that and whathave you, but still we're talking about the general populace here when peoplehave you know their own guidelines, opinion e exactly like something thatguy did turn me off and I will not ever listen to another song. He does, eventhough he might have a couple good little ear worms in there. You knowwhat I mean so that I'm just trying to rationalize, because to me that numberseems really hefty on the song on wrongside from the Internet. Folks, yeah! No! I agree I agree, but before we did get a good amount of feedback toso that 'll maybe help shine a light on it, but I have a quit. I have A. I havea question before we dig into that: no okay, yeah, okay, all right God,eallright good talkn. What bands are Artis Dave? Would you like to see planis super bowl that hasn't performed there? Yet, Oh that's great, because Iwas going to ask you that after we got the fan feedback, but you know whatI'll do that now, because I wasn't really quite prepared to give my ownanswer. Despite wanting to ask you the very sane question so for me, if I waslike in a plan, the perfect halftime show I'm thinking now like okay, it'snot just one artist anymore right, there's all is a collaboration. It'snot like, if you say, beyonce is going to play the Super Bowl. Whatever artistcomes out. Shouqor, I think was one of them right or something they allJennifer Lopen here in jail, yeah, it's like there. You Go! Thank you, I'malways outside like drinking or smoking butts or something ig used to smoke.Buts talk to people during the you know, halftime shows like come on we'rewasted anyway, so I'm Goingta give you a fewacts. I would like to see perform together at one time. How many can Igive you? What am I limited to, I feel like? Well, I feel like three treewould be the most because he only they only have what like fifteen or twentyminutes right all right. So what would be like the most kickass halftime showof all time? Okay, I'm going to say, faith, no more, the but whole surfers, and this one I'm pullg on my back pocket, because I love them for so longand I've mentioned them to you before not getting the recognition theydeserved. But I think if it was like a whole jam sesh with Fnm and bout hole, this would be great rustic overtones. Okay, and that's only if we're talkinga live artist, we started talking...

...deadman, I'm going with bowyandeverybody else. So let's not do that. Let's just get to you! Let me reverse the whole situation on you now. Yeah Imean I wasn't yeah well. Who's alive is what I was first for okay who's alive. But what do you think of my choice is real, quick if I said faith, TNO, morewhole surfers and rustic Overti I'll, be honest. I would that would be agreat show. Personally, I would rather faith me more. Do a set by themselvesand then maybe the following year: You could have the butt hole, surfers andrustic overtones. Do it yeah, but I told you like Super Jam Yeah. I LoveFaith and more I've seen thim live numerous times. I Love Them. I see Mikepattent and all this acx. You know at least once, but still if I was doingthe jam piece like Aman Mike Patten is ripping it up and you know Roddybottom's going to, and I don't know where Giby Hanes in the but wholesurface is comes out with a megaphone and Oh man, my mind is blowed. I don'tknow what to do in myself. You know yeah, that's just to me would be insanecould say it yeah. But yours give me yours real, quick off the top of yourdome. Well, I would say if we, if we're doing a mix of three, Iwould say- probably Brantley Gilbert Toby Keith and Jason, an Jason Al Dean. That would be a boy thatod be such a great. So I would have to totally likeget one of those hair straighteners. For My mullet make sure it looks realnice and Shiny, like for my sister and then Il make sure the kegs are allready to go in the back of the pickup. I would hate that Fuckin it would bether. I don't even know why they would needto have them ONA. I mean, like I mentioned, oing to Brantley Gilbertepisode. He did a halftime show for like a packers game on like a Monday orSunday night, football or whatever it was horrible, but I bet honestly Iwould I would love to see Pearl Jam and I think they, like legitimately, coulddo that into future metallica. Maybe I think they might be a little too heavyfoo fighters, I think, would be a decent fit to proaly. APROJAMMA too, Ithink, would be decent. Obviously I'm you know me I'm biasd towards alse andchains. I don't think they're going to make it there yeah, but I mean they didplay a hale time show for a seahawks game, a couple years back, which ispretty cool, but I feel like pear. Jim has a legitimatechance to do it. I would say foo fighters as well, because you knowthey're a wik middle of the road and but they're still talented and popular,so I think I think they have a legit shot, but oneof our listeners, Cynthia Kelly at Cindy seventy five said AC DC- shouldbe playing the super bowl this year, which I would I'd be down with ACDC. Ihave no problem with them. Yeah me too, but I don't think I don't think it'd bethat popular with the younger set so to speak. Youknow what I mean like yeah, I wouldn't mind seeing ACDC perform live at ahalftime show, but with the young millennials of America really careabout ACDC. What are the what's the target audience sell by? I could bewrong. I always felt like the majority of people watching football arebasically us like a bunch of like middle aged white dudes. So that's whyI'm like? Oh No! If that was the case, you wouldn't have all that half showartist they've had in the last decade, but maybe they're doing that Te. Try Toyou, know, branch out and be like listen. We don't. I know you're fortyand your Chubby drew you know, that's fine and you like Fooeah, that's great. We know you're in let's try we're trying to get some other peopleinvolved and interested in the game. So I don't know. Maybe that's maybe maybeI'm wrong. I could be wrong. I don't know I've been wrong once or twicebefore. That's probaby, not yeah, but you know what, like even your picks, were more grounded in reality than mine. I was kind of like having a wetfanboy's dream with my whole super bowl. Halftime show scenario you were like:Hey Man, Pearl Jam, Realistic Shot. I mean if I TELICA, why? No, if itWasmean, I think metallics going Ta get guess I think they're a little tooheavy, but I mean yeah. I mean if I threw reality to the to the breeze, Iwould say alson chains you could do you...

...could do a Seattle one you could do.You could probably put Alison Chains Pearl Jam and Foo fighters. In there Imean grolls from hm Nervana, originaly that'swea he started with, but rightyou cun. You can make that happen. Maybe if there was a game played inSeattle, maybe I don't think they would, because it probably be miserable, wheather and on't think they have a dome in Seattle. Do they? I didn't, I'mnot sure if century link field or whatever it's called, has a retractableroof. As far as I know, I think it's always oyea t's hat. I think too, butyeah. I don't know, that's a that's kind of what that's what I'd go with, but I would I would I would definitely enjoy watching year. Halftime show tothank you and thank you to the fan who responded. So we could totally rambleabout this for a long time. We should be playing the super bowl.Halftime show what everybody else think yeah, but let's some so that was thefee that we have for the halftime show. But let's talk about what peoplethought about blinding lights from the weekend, so denny, yes, Denny at Mamaof the Java said it sounds like Young Turks by Rod Stewart every time I hearit. I wait for the young hearts part and realize that's not it and thenHashtag, I'm not that old. pipeseen twenty at pipe seven twenty said solegit. It will be one of those songs that gets played for years. The weekendis a true and universal talents, and then we have AU good friend, Tom Ongiaat Ian Paulinike said absolutely a hit. Of course he should play it play thissong since it's one of his most popular songs at the Super Bowl. My kids reallylike him and we'll probably only watch the game to see his performance seethey'd, be disappointed if he didn't sing it. So I feel, like you, know, theweekends reaching out Tho at younger audience. WE HAVE MIMI G at Yoga, MamaNinen, O eight said Katchy, but forgettable Milinda are good fromMelinza at Malenda. Barnett said no Wele. She said no, you go Irish Keith at Tismey Selfhinosaid Nad. That weekend was worse than a Monday morning. I see what you didthere and like it. Yeah like it Erico at Eri. Oterio said: There's only oneperformer. I wanted to super boy. Halftime show this year and that's Saxsquatch, that's Sax squatch, Oh yeah, that's Kinky! I would I would. Iwould watch that one too and then finally snubby girl at snoby, Gor,seventeen said Ilily only know this song dude to relentless tick, TockDances, it spawned Mi, so some some mixed up to some mixedfeedback there. You know, so that's why we guess we got sixteen percent. Sothat's what we got yeah totally. I can. I guess it Allit's a clear picture nowfor me: Yeah I win in all foggy and now I can see clearly now the rain is gone.Ee Ye go. So thank you to the listeners for all that feedback. I appreciate itas do I, but they hae anything else t an ad before we wrap up yeah, let'stotally date, this show. What do you say? Let's put our stamp on this seelitat a time. Capsule Forever, so wit can embarrass us in the future. Who WillWin the Super Bowl? Okay, I you know what I'm pulling for the bucks, becauseI really as an old man. I appreciate forty three year old Tom Brady, basically kicking gas, which is amazing to me. So I'm going to say the bucks,I'm Gtao say the bucks. They win by four I'll call it thirty four thirty. What do you think mm? Well, you know I am a New England Patriots Fan for anelisteners out there. That's where I'm originally from is New England, so youGoin to ask yourself: Is this guy mad that Tom Brdy left town for greenerpastures, or am I going NA? You know keep rooting the guy on Thi? Is My teamnow effectively sucks? You know, thanks to his well actuallythey're, going to SUC keeping the fuws on the team or not, but still you know.Is it a painful thing? Yes, it's a painful thing boy: here's I'm going to tell you drew. I amactually rooting for Thomas Edward Patrick fucking, Brady junior to win another ring ring number. Seven isSuper Bowl number ten. So I'm going to pick the Tampa Bay buccaneas by athousand fucking points guy...

I like it- and this is- and this is thefirst Super Bowl Game Sho, where the the hosting team is actually also orthe hosting city. Their team is also playing in it, which is, I don't meannothing now. No, but I'm just saying it's interesting, that in what fiftyfive years is the first time that's ever happened, so yeah drew ind, his tidbits always come inwith those stats and facts people. I know random shit people, you do you do,but I think that's it. I'm good anything else. Dave yeah, no just want to say bigups to thelisteners out there. You guys are all fantastic, no matter what anybody saysabout you IAM here and I care about you and I thank you so yeah you're the BestYep, likewise Wut, he said so thanks again everybody for listening and enjoythe Super Bowl and the weekends have time performance show and also thanksagain for listening to songs, Gone Wrong.
